Shandong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine) was founded in July 1955. Located in Jinan, the City of Springs, it is a high‑level Grade‑A tertiary traditional Chinese medicine hospital and one of the earliest established TCM hospitals since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Its first president, Liu Huimin, once served as the personal physician of Chairman Mao Zedong. Nowadays, it is a National Model TCM Hospital, National Clinical Research Base of Traditional Chinese Medicine, National Construction Unit for TCM Inheritance and Innovation Project, National Drug Clinical Trial Institution, National TCM Examination Base, and one of the first National Standardized Training Bases for TCM Resident Physicians.
