First Hospital Affiliated to Suzhou University is the first batch of three first-class hospitals and the key hospitals directly under the Jiangsu provincial health department. It is the first aid center in South of Jiangsu. Its predecessor was founded in 1883 (nine years of Qing Guangxu). In October 1954, renamed the first people's Hospital of Suzhou city. In September 1957 and September 1959, it was renamed to the Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou Medical College and the First Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou medical college. In April 2000, the Suzhou medical college was merged with Soochow University and was renamed the First Hospital Affiliated to Suzhou University.
